The first knife.

The Autobahn

Perfectly Balanced

Enthralling like a full speed drive in a fast german car, we were utterly captivated by Heidi's Design.

The knife feels so satisfying to grasp and employ, it's truly an ideal everyday carry accessory for your pocket.

Integral Design

The blade and the handle are made from one solid block of D2 tool steel, then milled out to make it light weight - and filled with a slab of micarta. Real masterful machining.

A true Heidi

It unmistakably bears the signature that made its designer famous! A great blade shape, a slim handle and subtle curves make it a super nice tool.

Who we are.

The Group

Five parties of blade aficionados striving to spread even more delight in the realm of knife enthusiasts.

Writing Turning Flipping

Jenni and Sascha are the brains and coordinators driving the group. Without them, KRAUTS wouldn't exist.

Heidi Blacksmith

Markus is one of the best known knife makers in Germany. He has developed his own style that is immediately recognizable as “Heidi”. He's also a real sweet and cool dude.

dp_steelandleather

Daniel established his reputation developing The ClipSlip and other leather EDC products. The "steel" in his company's name alludes that crafting knives has always been part of his agenda.

1878 Knife Design

Andi is recognized in the German EDC community for being a YouTube personality focused on knives and a devoted fan of slip joints. Hence, it's no surprise that his initial knife model, the Tuya Blackbeard, was a slipjoint.

Nico Baumann Knives

Despite being the team's junior member, Nico has been involved in the industry since 2018. His creations are truly exceptional, expressing their uniqueness clearly.

Why KRAUTS?

Why KRAUTS?

Why KRAUTS?

In old times "Krauts" was supposed to be a mean word for Germans (because we all eat Sauerkraut - all the time! 😆) but we just made it a cool sounding word for people who don't take themselves too seriously. So we fly this flag with pride and a wink in our eyes. Don't let words bring you down. Let's bring the world a little closer together again - with love, peace and cutlery!
